Charleston Food and Wine Festival 2011

The Charleston Food and Wine Festival is quickly becoming recognized as one of the premier food and wine festivals in the U.S.  This year the four day festival runs March 3-6, 2011.  The festival is a celebration of Charleston's rich cultural and culinary heritage.  Local culinary professionals, internationally celebrated chefs, and wine experts will offer a variety of events and programs designed to appeal to all palates.  What a fabulous way to welcome spring to the lowcountry!  Festival attendees may choose from a variety of events ranging from dinner in a private home with private winery tour; the celebrity chef authors reception; the always exciting culinary village; and this year for the first time, 6 former TOP CHEF contestants will compete head to head in an exciting challenge using a classic lowcountry ingredient!  To add to the fun, the judges for this event include Matt and Ted Lee authors of The Lee Bros.  Simple Fresh Southern and The Lee Bros. Southern Cookbook:  Stories and Recipes for Southerners and would be Southerners.  I have made several recipes from this one, including the delectable shrimp cakes!   Enjoy vacationing at Seabrook or Kiawah Island in between savoring the culinary treats offered at the festival.  Please give us a call for personal assistance with accommodations.
